Ma & Pa info

Clarifications from Trek Fireside Mtg:

We will be transporting buckets on the first day on the handcarts. After both water jugs are loaded you will only have room for 7 buckets. (reason why we are sharing). The youth should put ponchos and emergency items in these buckets. Additional buckets will be kept in the trailer and will be distributed at the end of the first day of trek.  We will drop off the buckets at the gravel pit (start area) 1/2 hour before they arrive and they will load buckets, fill water coolers and receive orientation at the beginning. This means it will be easier to be ready if all buckets are arranged at drop off or prior to.
Custom water bottle holders can be made for the handcarts.  It is suggested that the custom items be placed on the back and away from the wheels.  Also take into consideration that the water bottles may affect the weight in the back of the handcart so have family be aware of the weight distribution.

Extra snacks/food or equipment other than what has been arranged or discussed are discouraged. Please remember for the safety of others who have allergies, no peanut or seed based items should be brought on trek.

Propane lamps or gas lit items will not be allowed on site. We will know more about fire restrictions by the 4th of July. The stake will take care of all firewood if we get to use it.

Please emphasize battery powered equipment such as flashlights for use at night.

Air mattresses are discouraged for the youth.  It is however allowable to us older folks with needs.  Space in the support trailers is very limited for items beyond the suggested packing list so please be considerate. If you really don't need one, don't bring one.

Families needing the Special Needs Handcart (ADA) will also need an additional handcart to carry belongings in. The ADA cart only has room to carry 1 person with no supplies, and requires 4 people to push/pull. If your family is using one of these you can do the Women's pull but not Rocky Ridge. After Women's Pull you will turn around and head around the backside to meet up with the group.
